Overview
Tsum Valley—also known as the “Valley of Happiness”—is a hidden Himalayan gem located in the Manaslu region of Nepal. Opened to trekkers only in 2008, it offers a unique combination of pristine landscapes, ancient Buddhist culture, secluded monasteries, and breathtaking mountain views of Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Himalchuli. The valley is rich in Tibetan influence, and you will encounter mani walls, prayer flags, and centuries-old along the trail.
Itinerary
Meet at Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel.
Half-day guided city tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Final gear check and trek briefing.
Scenic drive along the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki rivers, passing rural villages, terraced fields, and lush hills. Overnight in Machha Khola.
The trail follows the Budhi Gandaki gorge, crossing suspension bridges and passing small settlements. Reach Jagat, a stone-paved village.
Enter the restricted Tsum Valley region. The trail climbs through pine and rhododendron forests with glimpses of Sringi Himal.
Gradual ascent through alpine landscapes, mani walls, and Buddhist chortens. Overnight at Chhokang Paro, a cultural hub of Tsum Valley.
Walk past villages, terraced fields, and traditional stone houses. Enjoy views of Ganesh Himal before reaching Nile.
Visit the historic Mu Gompa monastery, one of the oldest in the region. Explore Tibetan Buddhist traditions and enjoy panoramic views.
Rest day with optional hikes to surrounding viewpoints.
Descend through monasteries and villages, retracing your steps while enjoying new perspectives of the valley.
Long descent following the Budhi Gandaki, crossing suspension bridges and rocky trails.
A gradual downhill walk-through subtropical forest and small Gurung settlements.
Return drive with scenic mountain and countryside views.
Relax, explore Thamel, or shop for souvenirs. Optional cultural dinner.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
