Overview

This adventure combines the hidden Buddhist culture of the remote Tsum Valley with the classic Manaslu Circuit trek, offering both cultural immersion and high mountain crossing. Trekkers experience Tibetan-influenced villages, ancient monasteries, and the dramatic landscapes of the Budhi Gandaki and Manaslu region, culminating in the crossing of the Larkya La Pass (5,160 m).

Itinerary

Meet at Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel.

Half-day guided tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Final gear check and trek briefing.

Scenic drive along the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki rivers, passing rural villages, terraced fields, and lush hills. Overnight in Machha Khola.

Follow the Budhi Gandaki gorge, crossing suspension bridges and small settlements before reaching stone-paved Jagat village.

Enter the restricted Tsum Valley. Climb through pine and rhododendron forests with views of Sringi Himal.

Gradual ascent past mani walls and chortens. Overnight at Chhokang Paro, the cultural hub of Tsum Valley.

Walk past stone houses, terraced fields, and villages with views of Ganesh Himal before reaching Nile.

Visit Mu Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries in the region. Explore Tibetan Buddhist traditions and enjoy panoramic mountain views.

Optional hikes to nearby viewpoints and side valleys.

Descend through monasteries and villages, enjoying new perspectives of Tsum Valley.

Retrace to Lokpa and continue along the Budhi Gandaki gorge before reaching Deng.

The trail ascends through forests and mani walls to reach Namrung, a viewpoint for Ganesh Himal and Manaslu.

Walk through alpine landscapes, Tibetan-style villages, and monasteries with spectacular views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli.

A shorter day. Arrive at Sama Gaon, a beautiful village beneath Manaslu.

Side trips to Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m) or Pungyen Gompa.

Trek to Samdo (3,875 m) – 4 hrs

Short but steep ascent to Dharmasala, the last stop before the pass.

Cross the challenging Larkya La Pass with stunning views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. Steep descent to Bhimtang.

Descend through rhododendron and pine forests with views of Manaslu’s north face.

Join the Annapurna Circuit trail at Dharapani. Drive to Besisahar.

Return drive through hills, rivers, and villages. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Rest, souvenir shopping, or optional guided tours.

Transfer to airport for your international flight.
